Honda Center

Honda Center's original name was the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim (1993-2006), nicknamed "The Pond." When the arena opened, the Anaheim NHL franchise was the Mighty Ducks -- inspired by the 1992 Disney film. Disney briefly called it the "Pond of Anaheim" before the Arrowhead naming deal. The Pond nickname has stuck among fans as an affectionate reference to the arena's hockey origins and Disney heritage. Honda, whose American headquarters are in nearby Torrance, purchased naming rights in 2006 and renewed the deal in 2020.

Honda Center Encore is a $1 billion renovation of nearly every aspect of the arena, privately funded by Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli. Running through 2027 (one year before the 2028 Olympics), it includes: a new five-story south entrance; four new entry plazas; escalators (a first for the arena); 10 new food and beverage concepts; a new all-inclusive premium club; new opera box suites on the Plaza Level; renovation of all 68 luxury suites; full restroom redesign; and three new parking garages (6,000+ spaces, all-inclusive model). Honda Center remains open throughout.

Take Metrolink Orange County Line from Los Angeles Union Station to ARTIC (Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center) -- approximately 45 minutes, arriving directly across the street from Honda Center. By car, take I-5 south to Katella Avenue exit (approximately 30-45 minutes from downtown LA depending on traffic). From Disneyland Resort hotels, take ART shuttle Route 15 directly to Honda Center.

Yes -- Honda Center will host volleyball events for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, making it the first time the arena hosts an Olympic event. The Honda Center Encore renovation is designed to be complete by 2027, one year before the Games, ensuring the arena is at its best for the Olympic competition.

OCVibe is a $4 billion, 115-acre mixed-use district being developed around Honda Center by the Samueli family and development partners. When complete, OCVibe will include 30+ restaurant concepts, a 5,700-seat concert venue, four public plazas, 865,000 sq ft of office space, two hotels (550 total rooms), and 20 acres of parks and open space -- connected by walkways and bridges. OCVibe will transform Honda Center from a standalone arena into the anchor of Orange County's premier entertainment district.

Two new all-inclusive parking garages opened October 2025 as Phase 1 of the Honda Center Encore renovation. These garages use an all-inclusive parking model (the first of its kind in the US) -- no parking passes required, seamless entry and exit for ticketholders. Honda Center Encore's first wave of new food concepts opened in December 2024: Feather & Flame (American grill), El Patito (Mexican), Slapshot Grill, and Anaheim Pizza Co. -- all on the upper level. The renovation will add 10 new concepts total across the arena while refreshing all existing concessions with self-service technology. Yes. Honda Center has wheelchair and companion seating, elevators, and accessible restrooms throughout. ARTIC station (directly across the street) provides accessible Metrolink and Amtrak access. ART shuttle is accessible. New parking garages (October 2025) have accessible spaces with the all-inclusive no-pass model. The Anaheim Ducks won their only Stanley Cup Championship on June 6, 2007, defeating the Ottawa Senators 6-2 in Game 5 at Honda Center (then called the Honda Center after Honda's naming rights purchase the previous year). The Ducks had also reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2003, losing to the New Jersey Devils in 7 games. The 2007 championship remains the only major professional sports title in Orange County history.
