Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada — commercially known as Heartland Credit Union Pairc Sean — is the home of Leitrim GAA in Carrick-on-Shannon. With a capacity of 9,331, it is named after Sean MacDiarmada (1883-1916), a Leitrim-born signatory of the 1916 Proclamation who was executed after the Easter Rising. The ground hosts Leitrim county Gaelic football fixtures and is the smallest of the provincial championship venues. Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada has served as the home of Leitrim GAA for many decades. Named after Sean MacDiarmada, the Kiltyclogher-born republican leader and 1916 leader who was executed on 12 May 1916. Leitrim won the Connacht Senior Football Championship in 1994 — their first since 1927 — and the ground is central to that county pride. Heartland Credit Union hold the current naming rights.
