Trent Bridge is widely considered the most beautiful of England's international cricket grounds — a venue where history, architecture, and atmosphere combine in a way that no other Test match ground quite matches. Located in West Bridgford on the south bank of the River Trent, just a mile from Nottingham city centre, the ground was established in 1841 and has hosted Test cricket since 1899. The iconic Victorian Pavilion — completed in 1889 and positioned at a distinctive angle to the wicket — stands as one of the most recognisable structures in world cricket. The 2019 Radcliffe Road Stand redevelopment houses the acclaimed Six restaurant on its top floor, with sweeping views over the playing surface to the rolling Nottinghamshire countryside. The Trent Rockets bring The Hundred to Trent Bridge each August, with the Hundred Club lounge and the ground's intimate character generating one of the competition's best atmospheres. The Trent Bridge Inn — a Wetherspoons adjacent to the Grace Gate whose original proprietor William Clarke founded the ground in 1838 — is the most historically significant pre-match pub at any English cricket ground.
William Clarke established the ground in 1838 in the meadow behind the Trent Bridge Inn; first county fixture in 1841; first Test in 1899. The Victorian Pavilion was completed in 1889 and faces the wicket at a unique angle. The £7.2 million Radcliffe Road Cricket Centre opened in 1998; the award-winning Fox Road Stand followed. The £20+ million Radcliffe Road Stand redevelopment (2019) added Six restaurant, Hadlee Hall, executive boxes, and improved accessibility. The Trent Rockets have played here since The Hundred's inaugural 2021 season.
Trent Bridge delivers an atmosphere that combines Victorian grandeur with the warmth of a knowledgeable East Midlands cricket crowd. The ground's compact capacity ensures no fan is far from the action. Trent Rockets Hundred fixtures are festival occasions enriched by the Trent Bridge Inn's legendary pre-match atmosphere, the Larwood & Voce pub-restaurant, and the ground's acclaimed food and drink concessions. The Hundred Club lounge provides a premium social hub on matchdays.
Nottingham Railway Station (served by East Midlands Railway) is approximately one mile from Trent Bridge — a 20-minute walk south towards West Bridgford and across the bridge over the River Trent. From London St Pancras, East Midlands Railway services run to Nottingham in approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Services also connect from Derby (20 minutes), Leicester (30 minutes), and Sheffield (50 minutes). From Nottingham Station, the NET (Nottingham Express Transit) tram network provides connections across the city; the nearest tram stops to Trent Bridge are Queens Walk and Meadows Embankment, both approximately a 20-minute walk from the ground. A £2 return event tram ticket is available for match and season ticket holders — purchase at any tram stop ticket machine before boarding.
Multiple bus services run directly to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground from Nottingham city centre and the surrounding area. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) routes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 all stop in the city centre with connections to the ground. Trent Barton services — including the Mainline, Rushcliffe Villager, The Cotgrave, and The Keyworth — also serve the area. The bus stop "Cricket Ground" on Bridgford Road is directly adjacent to the ground's main entrance. A Robin Hood Day Ticket (approximately £5) covers unlimited travel on all bus services passing the cricket ground and is excellent value for a day at the cricket.

The walk from Nottingham Railway Station to Trent Bridge is one of the most enjoyable stadium approaches in English cricket — approximately 20 minutes through the heart of Nottingham and across the famous Trent Bridge itself. The route passes multiple excellent pre-match pubs: the Vat & Fiddle (Castle Rock brewery's flagship pub) near the station, the Trent Navigation Inn along the canal towpath, and ultimately the iconic Trent Bridge Inn (adjacent to the ground's Grace Gate). The ground has four entry gates on Bridgford Road, Radcliffe Road, Hound Road, and Fox Road. Cycle parking is available at the Bridge Field Car Park on Bridgford Road — chains must be brought by cyclists as bikes are not permitted inside the venue.
