Xfinity Mobile Arena — home of the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL), Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), and Philadelphia Wings (NLL) — is located at 3601 S. Broad Street in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, sharing the district with Citizens Bank Park (Phillies) and Lincoln Financial Field (Eagles). Opened on November 1, 1996 at a cost of $210 million, the arena was largely privately financed and has been known by five different corporate names: CoreStates Center (1996–1998), First Union Center (1998–2003), Wachovia Center (2003–2010), Wells Fargo Center (2010–2025), and Xfinity Mobile Arena from August 14, 2025 — following a new naming rights agreement with Comcast's Xfinity Mobile wireless service through the 2030-31 season. The arena is owned by Comcast Spectacor, which also owns the Flyers. The arena underwent one of the most comprehensive renovation programmes in NHL history. The $400 million privately-funded Transformation took place in phases from 2016 to 2023, touching every part of the building: suite upgrades (82 of 126 suites refurbished), new mezzanine concourse with the Skyline Bar social space, updated Club Level, new main concourse bars and expanded entrances with heated canopies, the world's first 4K kinetic centre-hung scoreboard (installed 2019), Evolv Technology touchless security screening, and a complete $30 million Event Level rebuild in 2023 delivering new Flyers and 76ers locker rooms with 16,000 sq ft of world-class player facilities. The completed transformation was described by team president Keith Jones as producing facilities the players were "blown away" by. Xfinity Mobile Arena seats 19,173 for NHL hockey and 20,478 for NBA basketball, with 126 luxury suites — the most of any NHL arena — plus 1,880 club-box seats. The lower concourse houses the Flyers Hall of Fame, hat trick hat collection, and tributes to franchise legends. Lou Nolan, Philadelphia's public address announcer since 1972, and Lauren Hart, daughter of legendary broadcaster Gene Hart, remain beloved fixtures of the Flyers game-day experience. The arena's concession programme celebrates South Philadelphia food culture: Chickie's and Pete's crab fries (an absolute must), Campo's cheesesteaks, Federal Donuts, and Rita's Italian Ice are all represented. SEPTA's Broad Street Line (Orange Line) terminates at NRG Station adjacent to the arena — the recommended transit option connecting Center City to the Sports Complex in approximately 15 minutes for $2.50. Despite surrounded by eight large parking lots, the subway is consistently faster than driving post-game. On January 12, 2025, Comcast Spectacor and co-owners announced a $1.3 billion privately-financed replacement arena targeting a 2030 opening in the Sports Complex parking lot — meaning Xfinity Mobile Arena will serve the Flyers for approximately five more seasons before making way for its successor.
